Harvest is one of the most exciting times of year at Iron Hub Winery—but it’s also one of the most intense.
For Iron Hub team member Elise, the season heightens every emotion.
“Everything feels like it’s a little bit more intense,” she explains. “There’s a lot going on. There’s a lot of moving parts.”
During harvest, no two days unfold exactly as planned. Grapes ripen on their own schedule, weather conditions can shift quickly, and important decisions must be made at precisely the right moment. From checking vineyards and coordinating picks to processing newly harvested fruit, the work is constant.
“Your day is never stopped,” Elise says. “It’s always fluid. There’s always something to be doing.”
That nonstop energy is part of what makes harvest so memorable. It brings long days, changing priorities and plenty of emotion—but it also brings the Iron Hub team together around a shared purpose: transforming carefully grown grapes into wines that express the character of our vineyards.
As Elise notes, none of it happens without teamwork.
