Blending Experience at Iron Hub
At Iron Hub Winery & Distillery, wine is more than something you taste—it’s something you experience. Our popular Blending Seminar brought that philosophy to life, as attendees stepped into the role of winemaker for the day, creating their own custom version of a specific wine.
Our sessions welcome a mix of familiar Inner Circle Club members and new guests, and the seminar begins with a simple goal: have fun, explore, and discover how personal winemaking can be.
A Hands-On Winemaking Experience
Led by our winemaker Spencer Jones, attendees are guided through the process of blending—an art that balances structure, flavor, and personal preference. The focus of the January 2026 seminar was our 2025 Barbera, a vibrant wine already showing beautiful notes of bright fruit and fresh berry.
What makes this experience so engaging is that, just as no two people are the same, no two palates are either. Each participant had the opportunity to adjust their blend, highlighting different characteristics and creating something uniquely their own.
The Influence of a Remarkable Vintage
The 2025 growing season played a key role in shaping this wine with ideal vineyard conditions. These natural characteristics gave attendees a strong, expressive foundation to work from as they experimented with their blends.
It was a perfect reminder of how much the vineyard influences the glass—and how each vintage tells its own story.
Your Wine, Your Way
One of the most exciting aspects of blending is its subjectivity. There’s no “right” answer—only what tastes best to you. Some guests leaned into the Barbera’s natural vibrancy, while others explored ways to soften or deepen the profile.
That freedom is what makes blending so memorable. It’s not just about creating a wine—it’s about connecting with it.
More Than a Seminar
Events like this are at the heart of what we do at Iron Hub. They bring people together, deepen appreciation for the craft, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the decisions that shape every bottle.
Whether you joined this seminar or are considering attending a future event, we’re grateful to share these moments with you.
