Award-Winning Winemaker Unveils New Wines
Winemaker Tom Jones Launches a New Wine Brand with Iron Hub Winery

Plymouth, Calif. – (February 24, 2016) – Winemaker Thomas (Tom) Jones recently launched his new winery called Iron Hub that reflects a new chapter in his 30-year career as an award-winning
winemaker. Nestled on a hilltop with one of the prettiest view in Shenandoah Valley, Iron Hub Winery was previously the Amador Foothill Winery site from 1980 through 2015.

Jones has received wide acclaim over the past few decades as a winemaker known for a bold and
elegant style in his wines. After earning a Master of Science degree in Enology & Viticulture at The
University of California, Davis in the 1980s, Tom was the long-time winemaker for his family’s winery,
Lava Cap Winery, in Placerville, California.

In 2014, Tom moved to Amador wine country and employs a handcrafted vineyard-to-bottle winemaking approach. This results in balanced and complex wines that showcase the distinctive characteristics of the Amador vineyards. Barbera, Sangiovese, and old vine Zinfandels top the list of Tom’s newly released wines.

The name Iron Hub reflects Tom’s tradition of desert sojourns to rejuvenate each year. On one such
journey he discovered an antique iron hub from a wagon wheel, half buried in the mountains of Northern Nevada. The Iron Hub name also reflects a welcoming place to gather with family and friends, a place that you will enjoy often.

Learn more about Iron Hub Winery by visiting the tasting room Friday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Taste wines, stroll the vineyards, enjoy a picnic with the perfect view, and chat with the owners. Starting in the summer of 2016, you can also view the construction progress of a new entrance and tasting room.
